Miraphora Mina and Eduardo Lima are MinaLima, the award-winning design studio behind the graphics for the Harry Potter films. They've created this delightfully illustrated version of J.M Barrie's classic story with plenty of fun interactive features: fold-out maps, paper spinning wheels and pop-up fairy wings. With a beautiful foil embossed cloth cover, I will be gifting this book for Christmas!
Each chapter has a visually charming introduction, and throughout the text small spot illustrations are mixed in. I am particularly enchanted by the movable dials on the crock clock - what great design! The fold-out map hidden inside "medical cards" of the Darling children's minds captured my imagination.
I love to give a classic at Christmas, and this is a smartly modern update to enjoy at a time of year when we are nostalgic for childhood. I look forward to reading it snuggled in bed with my little darling.
